The program is based on visits to eco and ethnic villages, rural households and restaurants that offer traditional Dalmatian gastronomic specialties. During the program, attention will be primarily on experiencing the nature and culture through the food. Natural characteristics in combination with historical movements have shaped a specific culture, and one of its main elements is specific gastronomy, which in Dalmatia, in addition to supreme pleasure, also satisfies all nutritional needs like few other cuisines in the world. “Marenda”, a specific meal that will be the leitmotif of the trip, has a special place in the story of Dalmatian cuisine and customs.
DAY 1 - Split
Arrival to Split and accommodation in hotel. Meeting with a local guide, walking and sightseeing in the city center: Diocletian's Palace, Peristyle, Vestibule, monument of Grgur Ninski and Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature... Dinner in one of Split's restaurants. Overnight.
DAY 2 - Klis – Sinj – Panj
Breakfast. Driving to the Klis fortress and tour of the fortress with expert guidance. Drive to Sinj and visiting the Museum of Sinjska alka with expert guidance. Visiting the farm Panj, where there will be a wine tasting of wine varieties from the area of Dalmatian Zagora and a lunch made of traditional specialties of this region. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 - Omiš – Radmanove Mlinice – Trogir – Kaštela
After breakfast, departure to Omiš. A walk through the town and a boat ride on the Cetina River from the Radman Mills. Radman Mills are located in a unique location in a canyon on the banks of the Cetina River. Lunch in the restaurant made from local specialties. Departure to Trogir. A meeting with a local guide, and a tour of the old city center, that since 1997. has been inlisted in the UNESCO register of cultural heritage. Drive to Kaštela. Tasting of local wine varieties and dinner in one of the restaurants.
DAY 4 - Makarska – Biokovo – Imotski
After breakfast drive to Makarska. City tour accompanied by a local expert guide and visit to the Presentation Center of the Biokovo Nature Park. Visiting the village tourism estate Vrata Biokova. Tasting of local specialties and lunch. Driving to Imotski. Meeting with a local guide and tour of the city center and the Franciscan monastery. Sightseeing two unique natural phenomena, the Blue and Red Lakes, which are located in the immediate vicinity of the city. A tour of the surrounding villages where the traditional way of life has been preserved andvisiting the river Vrljika. Dinner in one of the restaurants in Imotska Krajina, which consists of traditional specialties of this region. Tasting the famous Imotski cake and tasting the wine varieties grown in this area. Return to the hotel.
DAY 5 - Vrgorac – Ethno Village Kokorići
Breakfast. Departure to Vrgorac, sightseeing of this small town that is the birthplace of Tino Ujević, the most important Croatian poet of the 20th century. Visiting ethnic village of Kukorići, a typical Dalmatian settlement, both in terms of the diversity of life in it, as well as in terms of natural sights and architecture dominated by stone. Lunch made of local products from this part of the Dalmatian Zagora. End of service.
